Anonymous NBA Exec Picks Warriors As Favorites to Win West



During an interview with KNBR's Tom Tolbert and Matt Kolsky, NBA reporter Howard Beck revealed that an anonymous executive has picked the Warriors as favorites to win the West this season. He also said that the team is likely to be a landing spot for LeBron James should he decide to leave the Los Angeles Lakers.


The Golden State Warriors are a popular team among basketball fans, especially in California. They have won the last seven NBA championships and have been a dynasty in recent years.


Their 2014-2015 regular season saw them set a record for wins and a league-best home winning percentage. They also tied a franchise record by starting their playoff campaign 12-0, beating the Portland Trail Blazers and the Utah Jazz in consecutive series.




They defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in seven games and defeated the Houston Rockets in five games to advance to their first NBA Finals since 1975. Their 16-1 playoff record was the best in NBA history at that time.


However, they missed the playoffs again in 2015-16 after losing All-Star Kevin Durant to a knee injury. In their second season under head coach Steve Kerr, they started out strong but then lost two more All-Stars to injuries before the end of the season.
